Absolute Rating

    Absolute Rating is a type of performance appraisal in which an employee’s performance is measured against the firm’s standards. Absolute Rating is also called Relative Rating. 

    Rating employees by comparing their performance to their co-workers encourage competition and discord. Rating employees on whether they have met the firm’s expectations can help supervisors retain the high performers while assisting low performers to become better workers.
